In late 2005 two of our trucks needed replacing, and at the same time DAF had just opened up the order book for their new DAF XF105. David G Davies’s was the first truck to be ordered, we also ordered a DAF XF95. At this time Chris Davies had decided to have both trucks air brushed, one with images of Polar Bears and the other with Sharks. When the two trucks arrived they were sent away to be air brushed and given the names ‘Arctic Tundra’ and ‘Out Of The Blue’.

The trucks’ debut was at Peterborough Truck Show in 2006 where they were both situated on the DAF stand. Unfortunately some 6 months after its debut the Arctic Tundra was blown over in the strong January winds and was so badly damaged it had to be written off.

At this time Chris decided not to have the full cab’s air brushed as he wanted all the fleet to be white, so he decided to have the corner panels air brushed by Adam Haden. This seemed like a more subtle approach and it also enabled us to bring in a ‘movie’ theme across all trucks incorporating animals into their name such as Dances With Wolves and Snake Eyes.
